Guatemalan Art is Awesome!
There are various places where you can get Guatemalan Art in Guatemala.  Quiché is one of the best places.  The art that can go on the walls is so awesome.  I have some on my wall and compliments is all I get.  The Mayan art colors plus texture and assembly is unique.  There is a huge substance of the true Mayan culture which is centralized in Guatemala and Tikal, being the central city of the Mayan empire makes for another gold mine for Mayan art.  I am so proud to be adjacent to one of the most influential, intellectual and greatest cultures of all time, the Mayan.

Chapín Taste

     This blog has been set up for all the chapínes living in the US that miss a little of the old country.  Yes, I am of Guatemalan descent myself and know what it's like far from the old country.  All those things that make up the culture of Guate, the smell of bakeries all over the city so early in the morning, the strong aroma of  Guatemalan coffee, a fresh hot thick tortilla fresh from el comal.  The perfectly baby blue spotless sky that adorns the scenic country from coast to coast. 

  I hope to give you a bit of  chapínlandia with this blog.  There are  different ways to keep the traditional foods from Guate close to you.  I will do my absolute best to keep you informed of the Guatemalan restaurants, artifacts and nicks and knacks that keeps your culture alive and well in your Mayan heart. 

Chiltepe peppers that are prepared in a certain way that get that crisp hot yet smooth taste with breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Caldo de gallina can be made from scratch going to the right poultry shop and getting the hens freshly feathered and prepared for cooking as they do in el Mercado Colón.  I'll do my best to get you the names of places and references where you can hook up with the Guatemalan populations and markets.
